Scott edinger

Lead Pastor

My wife, Natasha and I, along with our three kids, Sam, Allie, and Brady live here in Sherwood. As a graduate from George Fox University with a BS and MA in Education, I find myself exactly where God would have me to be and a pathway behind me that includes a few years teaching 5th grade students, a few years working in youth ministry, a few years teaching pastors in Rwanda and currently serving as the Lead Pastor at Journey Church. As a family we love to spend time with friends and family and enjoy doing almost any outdoor activity. We are also big fans of the Seahawks, the OSU Beavers, and Chick fil a.

Olivia Pothoff

Worship Ministries Director

As a singer, songwriter, and worship leader, I have spent the past 15 years sharing music as a meaningful way to communicate since receiving a B.A. in Christian Ministries from George Fox University and a M.A. in Teaching from Western Oregon University. I have a massive sweet tooth, enjoy summer more than any other season, and can tell you the story line of every “Little House On the Prairie” episode just by looking at the title. I’m deeply grateful for my husband, Mark, our three children, and to be a part of Journey Church. We all need Jesus and each other.

Daniel eccles

Student Ministries Pastor

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, I am currently a graduate student at George Fox University seeking my masters in Clinical Mental Health. Community and Development are my buzz words for student ministry. I want to create a safe place for our youth to grow together in Christ. My wife Gwendolyn and I enjoy hiking, exploring new cities, brunch, and photography.

CAMMIE SIMPSON

Journey Kids Director

Cammie grew up in Colusa, a small farming town in Northern California. She is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Liberal Studies. She has spent the last thirty plus years working with children and loving Jesus.

michael simmons

Discipleship Pastor

Michael Simmons is from Knoxville, Tennessee and holds a master's degree in Intercultural Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary. Michael, Liz and their daughter Bina (which means wisdom) live and work at George Fox University. Michael manages the campus bookstore and Liz is an Area Coordinator in Student Life. He loves connecting people to transformational community with others, with Christ and with themselves.

Lori Allen

Community Life Pastor

My husband, Patrick, and I moved to Newberg, Oregon almost 9 years ago. I graduated from Portland Seminary in May 2014 with a MA in Ministry Leadership, and I feel that I've finally found my sweet spot of community and ministry. We love to travel and explore new places, enjoy sports of all kinds, long walks on the beach, and gathering in our home with our small group.

D'ann Wells

Communications Director

Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, I met my three true loves in life: Bo (my awesome husband), Jesus, and quality Tex Mex food. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Business, focusing in marketing and nonprofit management. My husband, Bo, and I can often found with our toddler sons scarfing down donuts, walking to the library, cheering on the high school sports teams, and playing at dump truck park.

Alisa Shaw

Nursery Coordinator

I am a home town girl, raised in Sherwood, and currently residing in Newberg with her husband, Michael, and our son, Jace. I have the privilege of being a stay at home mom, and when I’m not playing make-believe or cooking meals, you will probably find me with a book in my hands. I am passionate about creative writing and story-telling; especially if there is a link to God’s amazing character and His Story for us.

Michael shaw

Audio/Visual Director

I graduated from ITT with a degree in Computer Drafting & Design and now work for Diversified, a top AudioVisual integration company. I love that I can geek out—using my passions at work to worship God through a different avenue at church. I enjoy life with my wife, Alisa, and son, Jace. Watching my son grow, explore, and laugh has been by far, one of the best experiences! If I’m not wheeling in the mountains, then I am on the coast—rock crawling with my RC. Oh, and don’t forget about the Ducks and Broncos!
