At Journey Church we seek to serve:
One Another - Our Church
Our Neighbor - Our Community
Our World - Everyone Else
It's our desire to help you explore and discover how God can use you, your gifts, and passions to serve others. We encourage to start by taking the Journey Church Outreach Survey. This survey gives us insight into where you already in service, and it gives us a snapshot into your interests, gifts, talents, and passions, and the areas you may feel most called to serve in. If you have any questions, contact us at
Serve One Another
Serving with Journey Kids is one of the best investments of your time you can make. Our mission is simple: kids will learn about God, they will know they are loved by God, and they will be a valued part of our community. Journey Kids Leaders are the only way that can happen. It is our hope that this is a ministry where you are comfortable, empowered to serve, and fully open to express the gifts God has given you.
We are looking for volunteers to work with kids from birth to 5th grade. We have lead and assistant teaching positions. If you would like to help in Journey Kids, but don't see yourself actually being in a class, we also need help at the check-in desk each Sunday. For a more detailed description, or for next steps, email Teri Gent.
Every Sunday is someone's first Sunday at Journey Church. Our Guest Connections team has the unique privilege of serving every person who attends our church. Whether its by serving as a Sunday greeter, serving at the hospitality table, setting up the sandwich boards around Sherwood, or meeting someone who is attending Journey for the very first time. Guest Connections volunteers play a significant role in providing a welcoming environment at Journey Church. Contact Lori Allen for more information.
For those that enjoy expressing worship through singing, playing an instrument, sign language, or visual arts, please contact Olivia Pothoff for questions and to arrange an audition. Ability to sing harmony for singers, and ability to read chord charts in various keys required for musicians.
Set-up & Take-Down Teams
We are looking for volunteers who will commit to 1 Sunday a month to come early to the Sherwood Center for the Arts at 7:00am to set up equipment, supplies, tables and chairs. Following the morning service, we ask that you help tear down and reload the trailer with all the supplies and equipment. Contact Chad Krober for more information.
Audio & Visual Tech
The Audio Video ministry consists of Sound & Media Technicians, both of which are an important part of the worship experience. The AV ministry contributes to this by providing clear sound and seamless video to limit distractions. We also believe in people serving in the church and using the gifts God has given them. If you have a passion for AV and want to find out more about serving, please contact Michael Shaw for more information.
If your gifts and passions surround the area of office administration, data management, system development, and organization, we are looking for volunteers to help us develop and update our database, newsletter and other administrative duties. Journey Kids is looking for volunteers to help with their newsletter, database and other administrative duties. For more information, contact Lori Allen.
